The following is the full statement from the Ministry of Health in English: MINISTRY OF HEALTH Coronavirus Situation as of 19th May 2026, 10:00 a.m. Weekly Report. During the current week, from 12th to 19th May 2026, we have attended and provided Responsible and Careful Care to 1 Nicaraguan confirmed to be COVID-19 positive.
From the start of the pandemic until today, we have attended and provided Responsible and Careful Care to 16,828 persons. People who have been receiving Responsible and Careful Care for COVID-19, have frequently had pre-existing conditions such as: arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, obesity, heart diseases, immunodeficiency syndrome, chronic kidney failure, a history of cerebrovascular disease, pulmonary tuberculosis and chronic pulmonary diseases. During the current week, there were NO deaths attributable to COVID-19. To date, we have attained the recovery of 16,582 Nicaraguans.
