Address by Compañero Laureano Ortega, Presidential Advisor for Investments, Trade and International Cooperation, during the Consultation Process of the Constitutional Reforms to the Government Cabinet August 26th 2026 Thank you very much, Doctor Porras, Compañeras and Compañeros of the National Assembly and all the Compañeros and Compañeras who have participated in this Session. Today, full support has been expressed by the Cabinet of our Government and all the institutions that have participated in this meeting on the Constitutional Reforms that have been proposed. It fills us with pride to see that this process is carried out with what is true Democracy, the President People. With this Process of Consultations which has been carried out for weeks, Dr.
Porras made a broad presentation of our history, our reality and why these Reforms which are being made are necessary to preserve Peace, Tranquility, Stability, and also to promote and enhance the development of our Nicaragua. In compliance with the guidelines of our Co-Presidents, Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, these Reforms put up the wall, the definitive barrier to the traitors, to the coup plotters, to the quislings, to the merchants of lies, terror and anxiety, to the criminals who threaten our Sovereignty and our People, to the servants of the empire, and here we say clearly, the People President says very clearly, that: in Nicaragua they do not have, nor will they have space to participate in these processes that belong to Nicaraguans, they can forget about it. This Reform confirms that "They Could Not Prevail, Nor Will They". Through this Reform, we are guaranteeing, our People President are mandating, that there is and will be a Patriotic Nation in Nicaragua, that there is and will be Sandinismo in Nicaragua, today, tomorrow and always.
Defending our Blue and White Flag. This Reform carries in its spirit the legacy of Darío, of Sandino, of Carlos Fonseca, of all our Heroes and Martyrs, and today, under the leadership of our Co-Presidents, Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, we continue and will continue to defend the rights of Nicaraguans. As Doctor Porras said in his presentation, the evidence is overwhelming of the enormous advances that our Government has made. Education, Health, Infrastructure, restitution of rights to our People in all fields, with our heads held high as Nicaraguans who decide our way ahead, which is not decided from outside, as happened before, and we are not going to allow any space that facilitates for outsiders to come again and try to dominate us.
Here we are engaged in a profound Revolutionary Process in a Nicaragua that has gone from darkness to light, literally, and we will continue to defend our People. Doctor, thank you very much for this work, for complying with the directiuves of our Co-Presidents and for carrying out these Consultations ratifying truly Democratic, Sovereign, Independent Processes. The Nicaragua we live in today is the Nicaragua of Nicaraguans who love our country. Thank you, Doctor.
